Egypt: A Country Full of Surprises

Image
Egypt is not just a land of pyramids and pharaohs. It is actually considered as the country with the richest history based on the survey conducted by US News in 2017. As a matter of fact, it has become an inspiration of many popular movies and video games. Hence, not only art, science, or history buffs can be lured in exploring Egypt but also those who have a penchant for entertainment. Nuseir Yassin, the famous vlogger of Nas Daily , even calls it “a photographer’s paradise.” Countries with richest history (US News, 2017)   I had a chance to explore Egypt for six weeks beginning on the first week of February 2018. Travel Diary: My First Week in Cairo

Image
Before I left for my trip, my sister reminded not to be finicky. At first, I couldn't understand why she said that. Do I look like someone who is squeamish? :/ I guess my sister has the gift of prophecy. Lol She already told me what to do before the problem even came. I have been watching vlogs and documentaries about Egypt, and I was mesmerized to see how beautiful it is.  However, when I arrived in Cairo, I got a bit disappointed because it wasn't really what I expected. All I saw are just old buildings, dusty areas, and traffic. It's like Manila except that the buildings are old and not artistic. When I saw the hostel I was supposed to stay for a few weeks, I was baffled because it's old and full of dust. I actually had a runny nose afterwards because of the dust and dirt. When I saw the kitchen, it was also dirty and very messy, but I just told myself, "Hala, Jon! Pinili mo yan! Panagutan mo yan (I chose this, then I should be responsible for it). Ahmed S

Why I lost 3 kg (6.6 lbs) in just three days after exploring the biggest cave in the Philippines

Langun-Gobingob cave, with 2968 hectares area, is the biggest cave in the Philippines and the second in southeast Asia. It is located in Calbiga, Samar. It is divided into two regions: Langun, the wet area; and Gobingob, the dry area. Langun is further divided into two parts: upper langun and lower langun. Upper Langun is the muddy area. It smells very bad as it was covered by accumulated excrements of bats. It is often flooded during typhoon seasons. This is where we can find the giant chandeliers. Lower Langun is the watery area. It has underground rivers, waterfalls, and natural swimming pools. We also had fun playing in the mud mountain of this area. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to go there in rainy season or else we will be carried by the water current, drown, and die. If you want to enjoy doing adventure, make sure there's no heavy rain or typhoon on your schedule of visit. Gobingob is the hollow and largest part of the cave. It is described as "a mountain
